July 1 is pencilled into everyone’s diaries as the day Big Disco hits Leeds for an enviably huge party, spanning across the Yorkshire region as part of Yorkshire Festival 2016 – complete with the world’s largest disco ball. And now, the Big Disco’s organisers have announced the event’s line-up.
Craig Charles, Alex Metric, Greg Wilson, Foz and Capital FM’s Adam, Danny & JoJo confirmed to hit the decks in Leeds this summer for a disco to end all discos. On top of that, Yorkshire’s very own music heroes, Utah Saints, will be joining the party, as well as Leeds based You Tube Sensations Brett Domino.
Big Disco will be keeping the atmosphere diverse, exhilarating and family friendly with carnival performers, street food and Little Discos being held around Yorkshire all afternoon, leading up to the main event at 7.20pm, which will bring together over 25,000 people to simultaneously dance to one single track chosen by the public. The song will be selected from a shortlist of 15 tracks put together by industry professionals, famous DJs and Leeds legends.
Following the mass-dance to the public’s favourite song, the party will roll on into the early hours with an after party that boasts Mighty Mouse, Justin Robertson and Boe & LX on the decks. Plus, fringe events that will also be taking place at major Leeds venues throughout, in a celebration of community.
Yorkshire Festival 2016, which takes place from 16 June – 3 July, has commissioned Duke Studios to bring the disco to end all discos up North and with Capital FM now on board as a media partner, Director at Duke Studios, Laura Wellington, couldn’t be more thrilled to reveal the big name DJs that will be mixing it up on the day.
Laura said: “We are delighted to be working with Yorkshire Festival on such an exciting project and we have carefully selected this amazing line-up to reflect the various musical tastes and cultural interests of all people in this wonderful region. Big Disco is all about bringing people together to share one epic moment, so in the party spirit, there is truly something for everyone!”
