Acacia Court in Crawshaw Hill (Pudsey) is inviting friends, family and the Pudsey community to its Blooming Great Tea Party on June 17, as part of Care Home Open Day 2016.
The care home will be open all day for guests to have a look around the home, as well as join in with the fun.
Friends, family and staff will be selling cakes made at the Acacia Court bake-off, and at 3pm there will be a tea dance for all to enjoy. All proceeds will go to Marie Curie to help fund their care and support for people living with terminal illnesses. Acacia Court is aiming to raise at least £100, enough to pay for a Marie Curie Nurse to spend the evening caring for a patient at home.
Marie Curie provide care and support for people living with any terminal illness, and their families. They’ve been carrying out this vital work for over 65 years and last year, they cared for over 40,000 people across the UK.
The challenges they face include people with terminal illnesses who are living with more complex needs and often multiple long-term conditions. They’re trying to face up to these challenges by reaching people who need their support and vital care. They’re also working with other providers and key decision-makers to improve the way people with a terminal illness are cared for across the UK.
