As part of our new feature #DwellersThatLunch, we headed to The New Conservatory to test out their Light Lunch menu.
When looking at places to try out for lunch in the city, we’re spoilt for choice. From street food vendors to top end restaurants, there’s so much choice in the centre of Leeds. However one of the places we were desperate to try out was underground bar The New Conservatory.
Famous for being a great night out and having a wonderful atmosphere, we couldn’t wait to sample their lunch offerings. Heading down on a Thursday lunch, it was the perfect treat.
After being seated in the raised library dining area, which has a perfect view of the whole bar, we were instantly impressed by their Light Lunch Menu, which sounded mouth watering.
Their Light Lunch Menu is served from 12-4pm and ranges from £5.45 for a Prawn Marie Rose sandwich on White Bloomer with Lettuce to £7.95 for their famous The New Conservatory Club Sandwich and includes a huge selection of delicious sounding sandwiches, whatever your taste is! Most are really well priced and therefore, they’re perfect if you’re after a quick lunch in the city on a weekend or if you’re going for a bite to eat on your lunch break.
We went for the Steak Melt, served on ciabatta with caramelised onion, rocket and cheese and the Ale Battered Fish Fingers, lettuce and tartar sauce sandwich. We were instantly impressed by the service. Having taken our order promptly with a smile, it wasn’t long before the food was on the table. It’s clear this is perfect if you’re on a lunch break and still wanting to try some top food.
The food didn’t disappoint either. The Steak Melt was succulent, perfectly cooked and a proper lunchtime meal while the Fish Sandwich lived up to expectations too! We finished our meals and couldn’t have enjoyed our meal at The New Conservatory more.
We’re already planning our next visit to try out their evening menu, we might even head down to one of their Steak Nights which are on every Wednesday!
