LEEDS CITY MAGAZINE CHECKS OUT NAPOLEONS CASINO AND RESTAURANT

LEEDS CITY MAGAZINE COLUMNIST KRISTIAN PURDY CHECKS OUT NAPOLEONS CASINO AND RESTAURANT, THE PERFECT LOCATION FOR AN EVENT OR CELEBRATION

Napoleons Casino is known for being a very traditional casino which really puts focus on its guests. At Napoleons you are very much treat like an individual rather then a number which guests are drawn to. Napoleons have been very much the forefront in entertainment for the last 30 years and it’s great to see them putting their stamp firmly on the industry.

Upon a very warm entry, I met with Sandy. What a lovely lady, very interested in me as a person and made me feel very welcome, almost as if I was walking into her own home. Sandy took me to the bar where we waited for my friend to arrive. The bar staff were all very pleasant.

Once my friend arrived we were taken to the restaurant area. It is a very ambient set up with the restaurant area overlooking the roulette tables. When seated we were given a very exquisite menu with dishes ranging from English style fish and chips right through to mouth-watering steaks. For £21.95 guests can enjoy a drink on arrival, a 3 course dinner in the restaurant and a £5 betting chip to play with in the casino. To order, I started with the haddock fish and chips and my friend ordered the black pudding dish with a bottle of highly recommended Merlot. Whilst waiting no time at all for the starter, we were sat overlooking the casino and noticed a real buzz in the air. The casino was full of guests, it was a very pleasant atmosphere and a joy to see so many smiling faces.

5 star treatment is all you get here and you receive that level of service from entry to leaving. Once the starter arrived it was clear to see the chef was passionate around how the food not only tasted but how it looked. My haddock starter was a miniature version of traditional fish and chips. It was so fresh, like I was sat at the seaside, my friends starter look amazing. Both tasted beautiful.

Previously for the mains we had ordered fillet steaks each. As they were being prepared we had a good chat with Sandy before she left for the evening. She told us of the newly installed roulette machines that were set aside from the main tables. We just had to give these a go…

Our steaks were then brought to the table and delivered in the timeliest of manners. Well… what can I say, normally you would have to visit a very prestigious steak house to receive the quality of this meal, but no… here it is delivered as standard. Absolutely delicious juicy fresh steak with a woody char on the outer.

After a good few moments silence due to enjoying the meal so much, our empty plates were taken away by the restaurant manager and we told him just how impressed we were with absolutely everything so far. We were asked if we would like the desert menu and anyone that knows me will know that I am one sucker for a desert specifically sticky toffee pudding… which they had on the menu! We both ordered the same and I have to say what a perfect end to a meal. Sweet, sticky and full of character. Hats off to the chefs and staff for what was only the start of our evening.

Now for the fun to start… roulette tables here we come! We played on the main tables for an hour or so and really enjoyed it. Time literally disappeared as we were having so much fun! It’s nice that you are not tied to one specific game, you can leave or revisit a table as you wish. I love the fact there are no constraints offering full freedom to walk around and see what the casino has to offer, which is a hell of a lot of excitement. We were offered another drink by Manager Simon that had taken over now Sandy had left for the evening. Again a very pleasant person with all the right attributes to offer a great service. Simon said we just had to try the new gaming machine which Sandy had described earlier. We gladly accepted the offer and sat at the upgraded machines. They are a doddle to use and great for people who would prefer a more one on one experience. The machines are based on all the same principles of a live game just in more of a secluded setting. The new roulette machines I found to be great, even for a novice like myself they are designed to give you an eventful time.

We had such a great time that we actually lost track of time itself. I sat with Simon for a moment and thanked him for such a lovely evening. It really was an evening to remember.

If I genuinely had to rate Napoleons it would be 10/10… the evening was faultless and an overall fabulous experience.

Sandy, Simon and the rest of your team, well done and thank you for having us. We will be seeing you in the near future.
