2015 will see Irish musician Nathan Carter return to City Varieties with his exciting brand of country, Irish, and popular music. The Liverpudlian grew up in a family with strong Irish roots, his parents originating from Newry in County Down. Nathan has so far recorded six albums, two DVDs and a host of singles, but his first love is to perform on stage.

Steve Parrish raced at the highest level of motorcycle racing, becoming British Champion in 1976 and coming 5th in the 1977 500cc World Championship as team mate to that year’s champion Barry Sheene. Steve then dabbled with sports car racing before moving to truck racing “because it was less painful than riding bikes” where he won five European Truck Racing titles for Mercedes Benz. Steve is currently the BBC commentator for Motor GP and has been commentating since 1988, but he is equally famous in the world of motorsport for his pranks. With a life full of scrapes and near-misses, including filling rooms of sports personalities with live frogs and jumping hire cars from second floor car parks in Daytona onto the beach, all will be revealed in a non-stop show bringing smiles to audience’s faces.

We’ll Meet Again
Producer Duggie Chapman MBE is bringing a brand new Wartime Cavalcade show to the Varieties to celebrate 70 years since the end of World War 2. West End singing star Maggie O’Hara will bring the songs of Vera Lynn and Gracie Fields and a touch of Ann Shelton to the stage and the show will see the return of Britain’s Greatest Virtuoso of the Ukelele, Andy Eastwood. Also appearing will be comedy entertainer Steve Barclay; Mervyn Francis, former singer from the Black and White Minstrel Show; and special guest, comedian and multi-instrumentalist Pete Lindup. With the live music of the Martyn St James Band, the afternoon show will pay tribute to our Armed Forces of yesterday, today and tomorrow.
