‘I am known now for my passion for food and in depth reviews, however due to the extensive changes that Leeds is consistently going through, I have been kindly asked to visit somewhere that I have spent many eclectic nights, taking me away from the restaurants and into the thriving part of Leeds on Woodhouse lane.
The venue up for review is the one and only PRYZM, known for its spectacular sound and lighting system through to its spacious rooms and décor. There was a time when I used to visit here when it was previously known as Oceana. Not the most attractive of venues in all honesty but venue that over time had some great acts attending almost every day of the week.
My night began with entry to the newly refurbished PRYZM, the venue is a futuristic & innovative nightclub concept oozing with 21st century technology. Set within the vibrant bustle of The Arena Quarter in Leeds, it commands prominent position in the heart of the city’s nightlife.
Having opened at the end of March 2014, PRYZM has rapidly established itself as one of the North’s most prolific Superclubs. PRYZM continues to offer widespread appeal given its varying rooms and themes that are presented to the highest of standards courtesy of some of the countries most talented resident DJ’s.
As a venue; PRYZM can cater for any occasion you choose to celebrate from the heart of a packed main room dancefloor to the intimate VIP booth experience celebrating a birthday, hen or stag or any other party you want to celebrate!
Upon entry to the Superclub, as I’m more than happy to call it, myself and good friend Kane from the Neighbourhood Bar were met by the lovely Kelsie, she welcomed us with a champagne reception and welcome bag full of goodies for the night.
We all met in the Belvedere – VIP Suite, which was very exquisite, luxurious finish and overall high end feel. Immediately I was blown away as my background is in interior design and interior fit out within the recruitment industry.
Shortly after a meet and greet with fellow members of the industry, we were taken to the next room, the Aspen – Ski Lodge.
I have been to many bars and clubs over the years but never have I seen anything quite
like this, no expense has been spared here, with every detail taken into account. The Ski lodge is exactly what it says on the tin.
Noticeably walking through each space the venue is more than suitable for corporate events, so much so that after entering only the 2nd room I was enquiring about having my Christmas party here.
Next room up, my absolute favourite – Vinyl – Retro 70s80s&90s…Uvlit, jaw dropping artwork and ultimately funky feel meant this room stood out for me being an avid music follower and ex club dancer…
My friend and I were walking round in awe, never seen a venue so unique. With no actual theme following through, its nice that each area/room has its own presence, so I just know this would be the ideal location for a corporate event or works party. Gone are the days now where everyone is sat in a room where half of the people dislike the music or maybe the people that they are with, the option is finally here to venture off and have a moment to break off, truly enjoying ones night. In my eyes a memorable experience.
Next up on our tour is Tiki Bar – a Polynesian room with party anthems. This used to be an old storage room, now with detailed planning a great space to have a boogie/ chat and sample a vast array of cocktails…
There are a few “Tiki” style bars popping up in Leeds but I can say none of which come close to this one. The atmosphere and layout has been thoroughly thought out and would suit anyone that might want to explore as I naturally would. We were able to take part in a cocktail masterclass which was a lot of fun.
Following this the main room which I remember very well is PRYZM – with state of the art Pyrotechnics & Co2 Cannons. All be this the main clubs room and known for its very busy bars and full dance floor this is the ultimate event space for any company, small or large… with tailored drinks packages and even better “FREE ROOM HIRE”
Finally we were seated in Curve – which offers R&B & Hip-Hop, here Kelsie had setup Roulette tables which is my favourite of all games. This kind of entertainment I feel is crucial to events, offering diversity is what makes an evening that everyone can enjoy. PRYZMs lineup of entertainment offers just that.
After a big win on the Roulette and one hell of a buffet, which PRYZM also cater for … it was time to head home after one fantastic night.
Please visit PRYZMs website for more information on bookings. A Christmas event here would be truly magical and one I will also be booking for my staff.
Thank you to the Kelsie and her very engaging team. I can’t wait to return and have yet another eventful evening.’
