Revealed: Leeds’ Last Minute Online Shopping Habbits

Shoppers in Leeds are using Amazon’s ultra-fast Prime Now delivery service to stock up on milk, gadgets and household essentials, according to new data released today.

Amazon has analysed orders in Leeds on its Prime Now mobile app and PrimeNow.co.uk website, delivered in same-day, one or two-hour delivery windows, over the last six months. The data shows:

·       Saturday at 1pm is the peak time for orders in Leeds on Prime Now.

·       The most popular item ordered for the last delivery window of the day in Leeds is the Fire Stick TV (pictured above).

·       The bestselling product in Leeds in the last six months is the Fire Stick TV.

·       Across the UK the most popular purchases on Prime Now in the last six months include bottled water, milk, Pepsi Max and the Fire TV Stick.

Jason Weston, Director of Prime Now, said: “Shoppers in Leeds can’t get enough of ultra-fast deliveries of household essentials, gadgets and more. Local shoppers are also taking advantage of our one and two-hour delivery windows to stock up on every day essentials like milk so they’re not caught short when it comes to a cuppa first thing in the morning or last thing at night.”

Prime Now launched in Leeds in April 2016 and is now available to more than 30% of the UK population in selected postcodes in London, Hertfordshire, Manchester, Portsmouth, Newcastle, Surrey, Rotherham, Liverpool, Birmingham, South Yorkshire and Glasgow.

Customers in selected postcodes have access to more than 15,000 products on PrimeNow.co.uk as well as the mobile app such as Toys & Games, Amazon Devices such as Echo, Fire TV Sticks and Kindle e-readers plus a wide range of store cupboard and grocery essentials including milk, bread and frozen food.

All Prime members can immediately download the Prime Now app, available on iOS and Android devices, or browse and shop online at www.primenow.co.uk.

Amazon Prime membership grew 51% last year, including 47% growth in the U.S. and even faster internationally – there are now millions of members in the UK and tens of millions of members worldwide. The annual fee for Prime membership is £79 and customers can sign up for the Amazon Prime 30-day free trial at www.amazon.co.uk/prime.

Prime Now is running a number of special offers this week. Existing customers will be eligible for £5 off £50 spend and non-customers will be eligible for £10 off £60 spend. Offer ends on Sunday 5th March.
