I am very lucky in my role at LBA that we have a constant stream of exciting and new developments to shout about… whether it be a new terminal facility or new route…and last month didn’t disappoint as we announced a magnificent 8 new routes from Yorkshires Airport!
New airline Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) will be arriving from 31st March (flights are on sale now) with a 2 x weekly service to Copenhagen, offering a direct link to Denmark’s capital and onward connectivity across Scandinavia and Eastern Europe.
Jet2.com have announced 5 new destinations this summer, meaning Yorkshire travelers can fly directly to the Hungarian capital of Budapest, Fuerteventura in the Canary Isles, Kos in Greece , Verona in Italy and Reus in mainland Spain!
Ryanair are introducing a 3 x weekly service to Girona, serving the Costa Brava region in Spain and providing a direct gateway to coastal holiday resorts. The addition means that Ryanair will serve a total 23 destinations from LBA in summer 2014 flying to 7 countries connecting Yorkshire with Europe.
Eastern Airways new service between LBA and Southampton launched recently, expanding on their current operations to Aberdeen. The airline will operate to Southampton 3 x daily Monday to Friday, plus a Sunday afternoon service; providing flexibility for both business and leisure travelers.
To top off this great news, LBA was also awarded Best UK Airport at the annual Globe Travel Awards recently which recognises excellence within the travel industry! Votes are cast solely by the UK travel agent community and I was lucky enough to collect this on behalf of LBA by non-other than Mr. James Corden!
