The five-piece released the album on February 24th, preceding a launch event at Headrow House in Leeds.
Speaking at the event, frontman Matt Bowman commented on the writing for the new album: “I really agonized the songwriting on this album, to make it something people weren’t going to expect. We’re not saying we’re ashamed of previous works, but we certainly wanted to distance ourselves from the first two albums… Songwriting is probably the best we’ve ever been.”
Whilst two of their previous albums were recorded in Leeds, the band ventured to Lincoln to create their latest work: “There were no distractions. The nearest town was 10 miles away so it kept us out of the pub.”
The Pigeon Detectives are now embarking on a UK tour, starting in Dublin on March 2nd, and finishing in London, before venturing to Europe, in cities such as Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin and Hamburg.
The band have also confirmed they will be playing Live at Leeds festival on the 29th of April.
