Will’s Weekly Whites Round Up
Two weeks ago, we saw the better side of Leeds United. Last week? Not so much. A dreadful performance against Ipswich led to us succumbing to a 4-1 loss and it was a complete juxtaposition of the week before. It really is hard being a Leeds fan, sometimes.
But lets not dwell on the past, we’ve been quite decent at home this season and we welcome Fulham to Elland Road on Saturday. Fulham sit two places below Leeds in the League Table and after their 5-0 loss to Watford last week, they should come to Leeds with some serious confidence issues. The main talking point is former Leeds United captain Ross McCormack’s return to Elland Road though.
Thom Kirwin, from LUTV and Radio Yorkshire, spoke exclusively to Leeds City Magazine about his thoughts on McCormack’s return and his prediction for the match:
“The home form has been a positive though, just 2 defeats this season and on Saturday it’s Fulham and Ross McCormack the visitors. I personally hope Ross gets a good reception…until the whistle blows for kick off that is! Without his goals last season the club would more than likely be in League One and his tally of 29 lit up an otherwise gloomy campaign.
Despite the defeat to Ipswich I think Leeds will be confident of picking up the 3 points, Fulham have the worst defensive record in the league and have found life in the Championship a difficult challenge so far. They have threats going forward but if the Whites replicate their performance against Derby and use Elland Road to their advantage then the early Christmas present of 3 points can be theirs. ”
