We Met up with Dan Pugh, a member of the marketing team at their Leeds City Centre Office
Can you just tell our readers us a bit about yourself and how you started working at Sanderson Weatherall? 
I started at Sanderson Weatherall just under two years ago following the completion of my marketing degree at Aberystwyth University, don’t worry, I didn’t know where it was to begin with either! It’s a small coastal town in Wales and by moving to Leeds I really was jumping from one extreme to the other.  I went from a town with a population of just over 12,000 to the fourth largest city in the UK, and I haven’t looked back since.
Originally from Dorset in the South of England, I didn’t really know what to expect from Leeds when I moved here, but I quickly found my feet and relished the opportunity to explore the city. As a self-confessed foodie I must admit that the majority of this involved making my way between the number of food and drink places that Leeds has to offer.
What would you say is unique about what your team do at Sanderson Weatherall?
Having worked in it for so long our residential team really do know the Leeds market inside and out. We have experience dealing with all types of properties in Leeds, from large scale development opportunities to individual sales and lettings, including high quality city centre apartments.
When it comes to dealing in property we like to do things differently, with each property that we put on the market, whether it’s for sale or to let we try to look past the bricks and mortar and instead promote a lifestyle.  Fortunately, selling the ‘Leeds Life’ isn’t too challenging, Leeds boasts an eclectic mix of well over 1,000 shops from high street favourites to lesser known independent stores. When it comes to nightlife you are not left wanting either, with over 150 bars, cafes, pubs and restaurants in the city centre, Leeds really is the city that caters for everybody.
If one of our readers was thinking about moving into Leeds city centre, what advice would you give them? Also, for anyone that’s thinking of coming into the city, how would you sum up city dwelling? 
My advice would be – do it! I am yet to meet someone that moved to Leeds and didn’t fall in love with it, the city has so much to offer and it seems that every day there is a new venue opening somewhere in the city!
I think that you just need to pick up a copy of City Dweller and flick through the pages to see the variety of events in the city, read the reviews and meet the people of Leeds to understand what city dwelling is. It ties in perfectly with the idea of us selling a lifestyle as that’s exactly what city dwelling is, it’s the living that you do outside of your property. It is always important to remember that there is so much more to a new place than the property you are moving into (although we understand how important that is too!).
I touched on it briefly but I feel that one of Leeds greatest strengths is undoubtedly its people. Over 750,000 people call Leeds home and this population is filled with some of the hardest working and diverse people in the country. I moved to the city not really knowing anyone and everyone I’ve met has been so friendly, despite the fact I’m regularly mocked for my ‘posh’ southern accent!
How do you think city centre living compares to living outside of the city?
While the city centre is still, for good reason, one of the most popular places to live when moving to Leeds, you shouldn’t overlook the cities suburbs.   Places such as Horsforth, Guiseley, Ilkley and Roundhay are increasingly popular for those looking to move out of the city.
It is difficult to compare city centre life with life outside the city as I think the big appeal to many when moving to Leeds is that you can get the best of both worlds. From the city centre you can, within a matter of minutes, leave city life behind, explore the stunning Yorkshire countryside, and vice versa. I’ve recently moved to Guiseley and find that as much as I miss the buzz of the city, I am just a 10/15 minute train journey away from city centre, this is not only brilliant for work but also means that I can continue to explore the cities many bars and restaurants in the evening!
