Luxurious Festivities at Dakota Deluxe Leeds

We are now entering my most favourite time of year. Halloween, Bonfire night and of course Christmas.
The fact that I’ve been lucky enough to start the festivities extremely early this year is pure gluttony. Soon becoming one of my most favourite places to dine, my husband and I (I do drag him to some events lately, not that he complains), were invited to sample the festive menu at Dakota Deluxe in our fabulous Leeds City Centre.

We were greeted on arrival in the cocktail lounge with a chilled glass of fizz by very friendly staff. After a short time mingling with other guests we were shown to our seats downstairs in the Dakota Grill. As a set menu price, depending on the courses you choose, the options are spot on with four choices in each course. You are guaranteed to find something perfect for your palette. Andy opted for a smoked salmon blini starter accompanied with crème fresh caviar, a ballotine of Yorkshire turkey with chestnut and apricot stuffing and a traditional Christmas pudding with brandy cream for dessert. Not one of his plates had any remnants of food on when they were cleared. I decided on the chicken liver & truffle parfait with spiced plum chutney and toasted brioche followed by a poached salmon fillet with a chestnut crumb and champagne velouté (wow).

I am still kicking myself now that I couldn’t finish my amazing dessert which was a dark chocolate & orange delice with crème chantilly.

To end the meal we were treated to a ‘Rum-Pa-Punch’ (as a nod to the Christmas carol, The Little Drummer Boy) and the ingredients being Bacardi Carta Oro gold rum, infused with apricot and cinnamon, Disaronno Amaretto, Organic Pomegranate Juice, Honey Syrup and Orange Bitters, shaken and served over ice with a dehydrated orange wheel and fresh mint sprig. Unbelievably delicious.

The intimate atmosphere at Dakota is one of the most individual characteristics of the hotel. The Cocktail Lounge, Board Room, upstairs terrace and downstairs Grill are all in keeping with the mood and tone of the space. It’s certainly a place where you could entertain guests or have a small get together with friends and family and similarly not feel intimidated if you were there as just a couple. Dakotas famous cocktail bar, Salon Prive is located on the first floor and is open Fridays and Saturdays, this luxurious bar is also available Sunday to Thursday for private chartered events for up to 150 guests.

The festive menu is available from Friday 23rd November until Christmas Eve. I guarantee the festive season at Dakota Deluxe is not one to be missed.
