Last year’s Young Sportswoman of the Year swimmer, Sophie Taylor, will be aiming to repeat her 2014 success since winning Gold in Glasgow. Gymnast Nile Wilson will be a strong contender for Sportsman of the Year since his Commonwealth Games haul of two Golds, one Silver and one Bronze.
Anyone wishing to nominate a local sports hero should act quickly, as there is now a limited amount of time left to nominate that individual, club, volunteer, coach or official who truly deserves an award at the 2015 ceremony.
As part of the Awards you can also vote for your ‘Asda Sporting Hero’ in local Asda stores and online. The award recognises a member of the local community whose time and contribution has positively impacted sport in their local area.
Nominations for the awards close at midnight on Sunday December 14th. Finalists in each category are invited to attend the prestigious awards ceremony. The categories for nominations, listed below, range from Professional Club/Team of the Year to Junior Sportsperson of the Year.
