As part of our next feature #DwellersThatLunch, we headed to Revolución De Cuba to test out their new menu.
If you’ve been down to Revolución De Cuba on Call Lane then you know all about the wonderful atmosphere and amazing food that transports you right into the heart of Cuba. It’s an authentic slice of South America in the centre of Leeds.
As regular visitors to Revolución De Cuba, the Leeds City Magazine team have accustomed ourselves to their extensive menu. So imagine our joy when we heard that they were launching a new menu.
After counting down the days on social media, we went down at 12pm on the dot on their launch day and became one of the first people to sample the new menu. We were greeted by the lovely Ana & Isabel who couldn’t have been friendlier and were both great through out the whole experience.
The main differences include ‘Primo Tapas’, a selection of premium tapas dishes that are perfect if you’re looking for something that will make you say ‘wow’, and their ‘Fast and Fresh Lunch’ which offers a range of delicious sandwiches and even a Chicken Burrito bowl that are all available for £6. So next time you’re in Leeds and you’re thinking about lunch, forget about the likes of McDonalds and your average supermarket, this deal is affordable and unquestionably better.
Between us, we ordered a huge range of dishes. Choosing a Pulled Pork Sandwich with a sticky orange glaze, a Halloumi Wrap with salsa, lettuce, black beans and goat’s cheese dressing and a Chicken Fajita Sandwich topped with delicious Cuban BBQ sauce from the ‘Fast and Fresh Lunch Menu’. But it didn’t end there… we also ventured into the ‘Primo Tapas’ menu, ordering a Beef Fillet Skewer and Charred Halloumi with butternut squash and courgette before rounding things off with a selection of fries, including Chimichurri Fries, Cheesy Cuban Fries and Sweet Potato Fries.
While eating, we all fell silent! We’ve never been as quiet as when we tucked into the delicious food at our table.
We also tried a couple of Mocktails including a Summer Punch, a Lavender Lemonade and a Apple & Raspberry Mojito. These are perfect if you’re calling in on your lunch break, or if you’re driving.
While the Fast and Fresh Menu offers an express lunch choice, which is perfect if you’re looking for quick food, we made sure we tucked in and it’s safe to say that we weren’t disappointed. It was a Cuban feast that offered an experience that was second to none as we quickly devoured a range of unique dishes, including vegetarian options. None of them were anything less than delicious.
Their new menu is another addition to a thriving venue as they continue to improve their already impressive offering. It’s a cliche but the new menu has to be tried to be believed.
All that was left was to unwind and relax with a coffee and a slice of a chocolate brownie. We left with a full stomach and a smile on our faces, we couldn’t have asked for more!
